                              ORKUT LOVE STORY

A guy lost his girlfriend in a train accident... but the gal's name nowhere appeared in the dead list. This guy grew up and became IT technical architect in his late 20's, achievement in itself!!

He hired developers from the whole globe and plan to make a software where he could search for his girlfriend through the web...

Things went as planned... and he found her, after losing millions of dollars and 3 long years!!

It was time to shut down the search operation, when the CEO of Google had a
word with this guy n took over this application. This Software made a whopping 1 billion dollars profit in its first year, which we today know as ORKUT.

The guy's name is Orkut Büyükkökten Yes it's named after him only, a Google employee. 

Today he is paid a hefty sum by Google for the things we do like scrapping. He is expected to b the richest person by 2009. Orkut Büyükkökten today has 13 assistants to monitor his scrapbook & 8 to monitor his friends-list. He gets around 20,000 friend-requests a day & about 85,000 scraps!!!

Some other Cool Facts about this guy:

• He gets $12 from Google when every person registers to this website.
• He also gets $10 when you add somebody as a friend.
• He gets $8 when your friend's friend adds you as a friend & gets $6 if anybody adds you as friend in the resulting chain.
• He gets $5 when you scrap somebody & $4 when somebody scraps you.
• He also gets $200 for each photograph you upload on Orkut.
• He gets $2.5 when you add your friend in the crush-list or in the hot-list.
• He gets $2 when you become somebody's fan.
• He gets $1.5 when somebody else becomes your fan.
• He even gets $1 every time you logout of Orkut.
• He gets $0.5 every time you just change your profile-photograph.
• He also gets $0.5 every time you read your friend's scrap-book & $0.5 every time you view your friend's friend-list.

GOOGLE MAY QUIT CHINA

Its been a hot news on net and media regarding the Google censorship with china.

Google has announced they are considering closing their offices in China and shutting down Google.cn following cyber attacks on the company’s systems.The internet giant said it will no longer censor its Chinese search engine in line with requests from Beijing following "sophisticated" hacking of activists' email accounts.However, in most cases, the accounts were probably breached using malware or phishing scams.

Google reports they detected a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on their corporate infrastructure which originated from China.

Another Reason:

China has the world’s largest internet population with over 300 million web users. The majority use the country’s own Baidu search engine, but Google still holds a 29% market share.China's most popular search engine Baidu said Google wanted to pull out because it had failed to become No1.

A spokesman for Baidu, which has 60% of the market, said: "What Google said makes me sick. If you are to quit for financial interest, then say it."

What ever it is , i suspect that this story will evlve in this coming months.Sooner i'll post a review on what happens if google quits china.

GOOGLE PHONE AVAILABLE ON FIRST WEEK OF JAN 2010 FOR $530

With the information obtained from a internet, the Nexus One will be sold unlocked on a Google website for $530. 

he phone will work on GSM cellphone networks and will be offered at a subsidised price of $180 in the US by fourth-ranked carrier T-Mobile with a two-year talk and data contract costing $80 a month.

The Nexus One will be the first device to be branded and sold directly by Google. 

Google is expected to officially announce the phone's release at a media event Jan 5, and make the device available to customers on the same day.

THE GOOGLE PHONE NEXUS ONE REVILED

Google placed its foot on smart phone market to compete iPhone. 

Google phone is apparently called as the "Nexus one".Google Phone= iPhone+ a little extra screen+Scroll Wheel. It has a Great Touch screen and Android.

There is no information regarding the specifications and apps in it.And not surprisingly, pictures of the device are starting to hit the web.Here is the rare picture of how the Google Phone will look like.

It's a logical feature to offer with any online service. Now, there is a limit - 2GB - but that ought to cover just about all your Docs data unless you have some uber-massive presentations stored there. Google figures it's about enough room for 100,000 files or so.

Google has finally released its Chrome Browser for  Mac OS.

Chrome is ultra-fast -- it even feels a little bit faster than the developer previews we've been testing -- and seems on par with Safari and Firefox in terms of compatibility with most sites. It passes the Acid3 test and handles HTML5 audio and video quite smoothly.
