APPLE TABLET ISLATE ON JAN 27 APPLE EVENT "LATEST CREATION"

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Apple sent out invitations to an event January 27th, where the technology company will unveil its long-awaited tablet product.

Apple just announced an event on January 27th that will no doubt dazzle us with what the company is calling its "latest creation." At the event, Apple will unveil the company's long-rumored tablet device.

Apple sent out invitations to selected media outlets this morning, asking people to "join us for an invitation-only event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on January 27 at 10:00a.m."

Apple is known to pull a last-minute rabbit out of a hat, however ... and just as likely to stuff it back in again. Last September, the company surprised fans by suddenly removing the camera from latest generation iPod Touch just before the Fall iPod event. As a result, the big stories from the September keynote were Steve Jobs back on stage after liver surgery and a Nano with a camera -- not a powerful new Touch.

Today's Apple invitation is vague as usual, but people love to look for clues in the message. The invite features spray-painted blobs amid vibrant color swatches, which could point to a device that captures "creative" activities.

MAC CURB APP FOR USB DRIVE

Sunday, January 17, 2010
Previously i had written an article on portable recycle bin for usb drives on windows platform. In this i wish to post a cool app supporting the same in Mac Platform.

Its been iBin doesn't works for Mac OS and supports only for Windows. So i am search for the same feature that supports the Mac OS too, which will make the Mac Lovers  Happier.

That's where Curb comes in. It's a free application available for Mac from MRR Software that makes file removal a snap. Just drag your drive's icon onto Curb and it will find and delete those fragments and files you no longer wish to have. Curb comes with a variety of settings and secure methods to delete your files easily and safely. In my testing, Curb was great. A simple idea executed well, Curb got rid of a lot of the random unreadable files and text documents that were left after deleting some folders.

GOOGLE MAY QUIT CHINA

Its been a hot news on net and media regarding the Google censorship with china.

Google has announced they are considering closing their offices in China and shutting down Google.cn following cyber attacks on the company’s systems. The internet giant said it will no longer censor its Chinese search engine in line with requests from Beijing following "sophisticated" hacking of activists' email accounts. However, in most cases, the accounts were probably breached using malware or phishing scams.

Google reports they detected a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on their corporate infrastructure which originated from China.

Another Reason:

China has the world’s largest internet population with over 300 million web users. The majority use the country’s own Baidu search engine, but Google still holds a 29% market share.China's most popular search engine Baidu said Google wanted to pull out because it had failed to become No1.
A spokesman for Baidu, which has 60% of the market, said: "What Google said makes me sick. If you are to quit for financial interest, then say it."

What ever it is , i suspect that this story will evlve in this coming months.Sooner i'll post a review on what happens if google quits china.

Google Fact:

"Google+China" was the 16th most searched item in the US yesterday, with Haiti and a new university football coach taking the top two spots

Dresden 26-gigapixels Photo Sets New World Record

Sunday, January 10, 2010
A new, 26-gigapixel panoramic image of Dresden, Germany, is now the world?s largest-resolution photograph. Taken from the rooftop of the "Haus der Presse" building, the giant panorama is made up of 1,665 individual shots captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera and a 400mm lens.

This massive number of shots were taken with the help of a photo-robot, in the course of less than three hours, but the processing took 94 hours using a computer with 16 processors and a main memory cache of 48 Gigabytes.

iBin a Portable Recycle Bin for USB pendrive

Saturday, January 09, 2010
We all know the lifesaver "Recycle Bin" in windows. By default, windows send all the deleted files to recycle bin, so that its not last for ever and can be recovered. This means you have a second chance of  retrieval and removal.

Where as the recycle bin doesn't cover the same process with USB Dirves. Once its deleted in USB drive, its been last for ever.

Fortunately, iBin does it.It's a portable application that you can throw on a USB flash drive to create a portable recycle bin. Basically, all you have to do is download iBin, copy it to your flash drive, and run it. From then on, whenever you try to delete an item on your flash drive, a window will pop up asking if you really want to erase it, or if you want to dump it into your iBin.

You can then right-click the iBin icon in your Windows system tray to undo the last dumping, clean the bin, or open up the Dumping Management window where you can clear or recover (recycle) selected items.

The application is available as a free download for all versions of Windows.

WEB BROWSERS TOTAL MARKET SHARE 2010

The figures are in from December and its now second week of January 2010. The total market share of all browser for 2010 has been revealed.

The noteable one on this share difference is , it just 16 months a for Chrome browser to overtake safari browser. Though its a few percent difference between chrome and safari like 4.63% for chrome and  4.46% for safari. It doesn't look like a lot when you're talking about a fraction of a percent, but when you consider that last month Chrome only had 3.93% you can see just how quickly it's being adopted.

Despite Chrome's progress in December, it was not at the expense of Opera or Safari's market share. Firefox lost 0.1% and Internet Explorer lost almost an entire percentage point, but thankfully not from IE8! Down with IE6 and 7, down I say!

 Ranking according to Market Shares:
  1. MICROSOFT IE SERIES.
  2. MOZILLA FIREFOX
  3. GOOGLE CHROME
  4. APPLE SAFARI.
  5. OPERA.

REMOTE ACCESS SOFTWARE GOTOMYPC

The most advertised solution for remote accessing is "GoToMyPc". It supports in accessing your another machine. Finally its coming to Mac.

Its named as "GoToMyMac". The pricetag is $19.95/mo to access one other computer, but there's also a 30-day free trial. That should come in handy, because GoToMyPC is a popular brand-name product debuting on a platform where there's already some solid competition.

Review:

The first alternative that comes to mind is Apple's Back To My Mac, which is part of MobileMe, and is also no good to you if you're looking to use your Mac to access a Windows machine. So comparatively "GoToMyMac" is more efficient with MAC Environment.

  • There's even the familiar text chat box on the side, so you can keep a running commentary with your friends.
  • Whoever starts the room can skip everyone to a specific point in the video by using the timeline just like you would in the standard YouTube viewer.
